We have listed below any event related to World War II, patriotism, or an event that we will be participating in that is taking place in this area.  Please contact us if you have any questions regarding any of these events.  If you would like us to add your event or know of one, let us know so we can add it here.

2008

May 12th

12:00pm - World War II veteran Bob Green will be speaking about his experiences as a B-24 bomber crewman at the Bradford Memorial Library in El Dorado, Kansas in the Clymer Room.  The event is free and open to the public.  Refreshments will be served.

May 17th and 18th

Robert J. Dole Veterans Administration Hospital, 75th Birthday Event.  Details will be added as event nears.

May 24th - 26th

WWII Weekend, Peabody, Kansas.  There will be a parade and displays and other events.  The World War II History Center will be setting up a display.  More details will be added as event nears.

June 7th - New!

8th Annual Heartland Military Day, 9:00am to 5:00pm, at the Kansas National Guard Museum, Forbes Field Topeka, KS.  There will be WWII reenactments at 10:00am and 2:00pm.  There will also be a veterans roundtable at 11:00am, military exhibits and swap meet.  We will be setting up a booth for this event.

June 13th - 15th

Kansas State VFW Convention, Wichita Marriott, Wichita, Kansas.  We will be setting up an information booth and possibly some samples of our collection for the convention on Friday and Saturday only.  We look forward to updating the membership about all that has progressed with the Center since we participated in last year's convention in Topeka.

June 14th

Kansas Museum of Military History Open House, Augusta, Kansas.  We will be setting up a display booth for this event.  Click here for more information on the Kansas Museum of Military History.

October 3rd

Tentative release date for the Tom Cruise movie, "Valkyrie", the story of the July 1944 assassination attempt on Adolf Hitler.  We intend to set up a display about this conspiracy in the lobby of the West 21st Warren Theater in Wichita, KS, the Saturday following the movie's opening.

November 8th

Tentative date for the Grand Opening of World War II History Center in its new location at 119 W. Central, El Dorado, KS.  This event will be tied in with the day's Veteran's Day Activities.
